Get ready in the lobby or meeting point of your Banyuwangi accommodation. The trek to the Ijen Crater base camp, Paltuding, takes 45 minutes to an hour.

Pre-climb briefing with our tour leader. Distribution of headlamps and gas masks. Start the trek from Paltuding at 1800m above sea level (ASL) under the guidance of a local mountain guide. Hike 3.5km on sandy tracks, covering a 500m difference in altitude from base camp to the summit.

Summit reached! Descend into the crater to see the enchanting blue flames. Follow your guide along the rocky path to the mesmerising Bluefire destination.
